1. Uruguay Carnival: The Uruguayan carnival is one of the longest in the world and is celebrated throughout the month of February, with parades of comparsas, murgas and cultural events throughout the country. One of the most anticipated moments of the carnival is the Montevideo Llamadas Parade (February 4 and 5), which takes place in the Barrios Sur and Palermo. It evokes the meetings of black slaves who gathered outside the city during the 18th and 19th centuries. Spectators vibrate with the strength and color of candombe , characterized by the dialogue of three types of drums: chico, repique and piano. More than 2,000 drums sound in unison. In this festival there is also no shortage of shows by murgas, parodists, comedians, magazines and troupes that take place both on the stages of the neighborhoods of Montevideo, and in the Summer Theater where the Official Competition of Carnival Groups is held . They are performances where both the music and the makeup, the lyrics, the dance, or the costume design are taken care of. Every night, an average of five groups deploy their best stage weapons to win the jury's vote.

2. Independence Day(August 25):  Uruguay's independence in 1825 is celebrated with parades, civic and cultural events.The celebration is not limited to a mere commemorative event, but becomes a great national holiday that is experienced with enthusiasm and solemnity throughout the country with cultural and artisic events, Gastronomic celebrations, and educationally.
