                             Introduction

In holland you can enjoy participating in various activities and festivities, including food, traditions, and other things that you will discover below.

1. King's Day (Koningsdag): It is a national celebration in honor of King Willem-Alexander's birthday, which is celebrated on April 27. On this day, the Dutch wear orange clothing, the color of the Dutch monarchy, and participate in parades, street markets, concerts and other festive activities throughout the country.

2. Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag): It is celebrated on May 5 to commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands at the end of World War II. It is a day to remember and honor those who fought for freedom and to reflect on the meaning of freedom. Special events, concerts and festivals are organized throughout the country.

3. Sinterklaas: This holiday, celebrated on December 5, is similar to Christmas but with its own traditions. Sinterklaas, a figure similar to Santa Claus, arrives from Spain on a ship along with his entourage of helpers, the "Zwarte Pieten" (Pedros Negros). During the night of December 5, Sinterklaas visits Dutch homes and leaves gifts for good children, while the "Zwarte Pieten" leave sweets and treats. It is a long-awaited celebration, especially for the little ones.
