1., Fiesta de las Flores (Flower Festival): For ten days, the city comes to a standstill in a colorful carnival that revolves around the "silletera culture" that developed since colonial times, especially in Santa Elena, a rural area of Medellín. There are five categories awarded, including the traditional, monumental, emblematic, and artistic silleteros, evaluated based on the freshness, quantity, shape, design, and variety of flowers. The event takes place in Medellín on the first weekend of August.

2. Carnival of Barranquilla: The Barranquilla Carnival, whose first version dates back to around 1881 influenced by Spaniards and Portuguese, is more than just a Colombian celebration or a reason for celebration. It implies the strengthening of local identity and the different social ties that have been created over the years through dance and music. There are four official days filled with parades, dances, music, and colorful costumes, including the Battle of Flowers, the King Momo Parade, and the official Carnival concert. The carnival takes place over four official days in Barranquilla.
